English Habit is an ecommerce outlet for English equestrian products (horse riding stuff). The site appears to be built on one of GoDaddy?s pre-fab platforms, which isn?t necessarily bad, but worth noting. I don?t know much about horse riding, but it looks like a fun and interesting sport, and those English riding boots really get me going. Perhaps I?ll learn a little while evaluating the site. Let?s saddle up and take a look.
Home Page Content
The home page has some good quality textual content on it, though it doesn?t incorporate heading tags, which is a big missed opportunity. Words in heading tags are given more weight by search engines, offering the opportunity to stress keywords on a given page by the use of those tags. While the website?s categories are linked textually, allowing for search engine spiders to follow them into the site, an internal sitemap would be a good backup. A sitemap link in the footer not only helps search engines find all the sections…

I?m a musical gear-aholic. My apartment is littered with instruments leaning against walls, stashed in corners, and propped up in closets. I?ve never met a guitar or keyboard I didn?t like. Having said that, while I frequent online music malls, I?ve never shopped at Music123.com. That site is similar in many ways to other musical instrument websites in that the focus is on brands and products, and the variety of choices is quite large. At the end of the day, though, the same search engine optimization parameters apply to music stores as they do to any other ecommerce entity. Staff of Music123.com requested this review, so let?s strap this site on and turn up the SEO.
Home Page Content
Search engines love textual content, and as long as it?s focused, the general rule is the more the better. Music123 has a distinct lack of such content as most of the page is graphical. The homepage doesn?t feature heading tags either, which offer a way to highlight focused keywords….

On Memorial Day my wife and I went to see the new Indiana Jones
film. You might find that odd, a blind person going to the movies. But
it?s possible, thanks to audio-description technology, which allows the
blind to follow what happens on-screen.
It got me thinking: How could such a service benefit online retailers?
Take DVD sales outlets. A large number of people with visual impairments
are seniors, many of whom are looking to purchase movies for their
grandchildren. What better way for a DVD merchant to promote these films than by providing audio descriptions of them to the visually impaired grandparents?
The process isn?t difficult, and adapting clips by using inexpensive editing software to provide your own voiceover is, in fact, simple. A brief audio narration can describe the humor in a scene (whether it is age-appropriate or the nature of characters) far better than any three-line text blurb.
With the expanding use of Flash and video, just about any product…

Folica.com is an online beauty retailer that is achieving success through the implementation of a unique business model that includes ecommerce, branded product development and online community. The site has evolved from a relatively small e-retail catalogue to a rather large site with a wide range of product classifications and categories. Customer reviews have played a crucial role in growing the business in the face of such beauty behemoths as Avon, Sephora and Mary Kay. Staff of Folica.com requested this site review.
Obtaining online customers involves two key steps. First, you need to attract the right prospects to your site, then you need to convert these prospects into loyal and happy customers. Let’s see how Folica.com does.
Findability
Qualified prospects must first find your website, and once at your site, it must be easy for them to locate the products they are seeking.
We conducted a range of relevant searches in Google. The site ranked very well for common…

This month’s report card website is Pawleyfarm.com, a small site that sells personalized country photographs and note cards. The home page says, “Just as a home-cooked meal nourishes body and soul, our custom matted and framed artwork carries along a bit of peace and contentment.” The down-home look and feel of the site is pleasant to the eye, but does it do well with the search engines? The site is simple and built on the Yahoo! ecommerce platform (not the best platform ever), but many basic SEO attributes are in place. Let’s take a look.
Home Page Content
The home page has plenty of text, and while there are pleasant graphics, they are secondary to the textual content. While graphics are not necessarily an SEO problem, they need to be balanced with permanent, keyword-rich textual content as represented here. There is a sitemap linked to the home page, and alt tags are properly used. It may not be the slickest home page, but it is quite optimal for search engines.
Inbound…
