Software AG Brings Social Networking to BPM

Software AG has developed a vertical social networking and collaboration platform that for the BPM industry. Now in open beta, ARISalign is built on Amazon’s Web Services and equipped with modeling capabilities, as well as virtual versions of tools typically used by process experts, said Matt Durham, VP of market development. They include virtual sticky notes and virtual whiteboards, as well as a Flash-based modeling editor and integration into ARIS Express, a free process modeling tool.

Salesforce.com Pumps Up Volume of Workplace Chatter

Salesforce.com is marrying its cloud computing bona fides with its growing expertise in collaboration in Salesforce Chatter, a new application and development platform. The company introduced the product at its Dreamforce tradeshow and conference under way in San Francisco. Salesforce Chatter, which borrows from the social networking models made popular by Facebook and MySpace, allows company employees to collaborate internally using a secure, private social network.

SugarCRM Reaches Higher to the Cloud

Among the new tools and features SugarCRM introduced at its global developer conference this week are a new Web services framework and mobile customizations. The open source customer relationship management company also reiterated its support for the cloud, with the rollout of several additional connectors. SugarCRM says it is gearing up for a new level of activity on the part of firms that want to access its product line in the cloud. The new tools introduced this week are designed to encourage developers to build elaborate mashups.

Google App Engine Gets Power of the Force.com

Salesforce.com has announced its latest platform-to-platform integration — this time with Google. Force.com for Google App Engine is a new set of tools and services that allows developers to build Web applications on App Engine that leverage the enterprise data that resides in Salesforce.com. “We believe developers should be able to choose the best services from a variety of applications and build applications that span multiple platforms,” Ariel Kelman, senior director of platform product marketing for Salesforce.com, told CRM Buyer.

RightNow Adds Agent Scripting to Contact Center Toolbox

RightNow Technologies has gone deep with contact center functionality in November 08, the latest quarterly update of its flagship Software as a Service CRM application. The new version builds on RightNow’s strong self-service platform with the addition of agent-scripting technology, a desktop add-in framework, and guided assistance. RightNow has also bundled many of its contact center features into a new software package. It includes the agent scripting introduced in November 08, feedback features, and cross-sell and upsell functionality.
