Bank Check Processing: Digital Imaging Enhances Paper Transaction Procedures
Bank transaction handling has greatly changed since the original introduction of endorsed paper documents. Checks are now being transformed to digital form thanks to additional federal regulations. Previously banks had to accept the endorsed paper copy for processing, store it, send it to the other settlement parties, and perform various other back-end tasks per deposit.
