Welcome 2009: Rough Ride Ends Fine?
What a great time to be thinking about the future. Seriously. This is my last column of the year, and traditionally I try to forecast some movements in the market for the year ahead. This year it takes a special kind of fortitude to even read a piece like this, let alone write it, but if you think about it, this really ought to be a good time for prognosticating and for optimism. I think it’s good to remember that we are always in an economic cycle. Sometimes the cycle is favorable and sometimes, like now, you have to sail into the wind.
